Sandra Abbott Gabbard, PhD
Sandra Abbott Gabbard, PhD is the Co-Director of the Marion Downs Hearing Center and the Director of Audiology at the University of Colorado Hospital. She is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and adjunct faculty in the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences Department at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She has been providing a wide range of clinical audiological services at The University of Colorado Hospital for over 25 years.
Education and Field Involvement
She received her B.S. from Purdue University in 1980, her M.A. from University of Northern Colorado in 1981, and her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado in 1996. She is a member of the Colorado Infant Hearing Advisory Board, the Coordinator of the Colorado Pediatric Assessment and Amplification Task Force, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Academy of Audiology.
Publications
Dr. Gabbard has published and presented extensively in pediatric audiology including the areas of newborn hearing screening, assessment procedures, and fitting and verification of hearing aids and FM systems.
Personal
Sandy loves the outdoors and spends her free time hiking and enjoying the mountains. Originally from Indiana, Sandy has spent most of her adult life in CO. She has a wonderful, smart husband and two great kids.
