Mental Health Services

The Marion Downs Hearing Center is able to provide specialized counseling and mental health services to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing (D/HH) and their families. This program provides clinical services that are accessible to individuals from a variety of language backgrounds, including both sign language and oral communication. Services include:

  • Psychological and Educational assessments of children
  • Psychological assessments of adults
  • Consultation with schools and other organizations regarding working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Job readiness classes for Vocational Rehabilitation referred clients
  • Time limited individual therapy for D/HH adults presenting with behavioral health issues, primarily anxiety, depression, PTSD, adjustment disorders
  • Time limited individual therapy for D/HH children with behavioral health concerns
