Marion's Way Preschool is staffed by some of Colorado's finest professionals in the field of deaf education, pediatric audiology, speech language pathology, and language researchers.

Teacher

Dianne Goberis has served as the head teacher and Director of the Marion's Way Preschool program since its first year in 2010. She has more than 25 years of experience working with children who are deaf and hard of hearing of which nearly 20 of those years are specifically with preschool children.

Speech Language Pathologist

Nanette Thompson is our Speech Language Pathologist. She is a certified Auditory Verbal Therapist and has extensive experience working with children who are deaf and hard of hearing in a variety of settings.

Audiologists

Shannon Burns, AuD, Sandra Gabbard, AuD, and Kristin Uhler, PhD, provide expert pediatric audiological support to each child of Marion's Way Preschool. Every day, your child's technology will be checked to ensure he/she is hearing well and their personal listening technology is providing enough amplification. Our staff audiologists are equipped to make necessary adjustments to your child's personal listening technology in order to maximize their listening abilities.

Researchers

Christie Yoshinaga-Itano, PhD, Cheryl DeConde Johnson, EdD, Sandra Abbot Gabbard, and Kristin Uhler, PhD, are focused on collecting data throughout the program to show the effectiveness of our instruction and methodologies. Data is collected from pre- and post-assessments of each child's language acquistion, how many words each child heard every day, and the impact that had on their final speech and language scores. It is our goal to share our research with the community so more preschool programs for this population can be offered around the country.
