Orville Alan “Al” Keeler
Al Keeler retired from the Gates Rubber Company after 34 years as a Director of Research & Development. He has significant experience in governmental affairs and speech and hearing areas.

Treasurer
Dr. Robert Traynor
Dr. Robert Traynor practices Audiology at Audiology Associates of Greeley, Inc., Greeley, Colorado with particular emphasis in amplification and operative monitoring offering all general audiological services to patients of all ages. He holds degrees from the University of Northern Colorado (BA, 1972, MA 1973, Ed.D., 1975), the University of Phoenix (MBA, 2006) as well as Post Doctoral Study at Northwestern University (1984). He taught Audiology at the University of Northern Colorado (1973-1982), University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (1976-77) and Colorado State University (1982-1993). For the past fifteen years he has been an active consultant in Audiology to the hearing industry and currently serves as Senior International Audiology Consultant to Bernafon A/G, Switzerland and Consulting Audiologist to Otologics, LLC in Boulder, Colorado. He continues to teach doctoral level Audiology students at the University of Florida, Gainesville and the PCO School of Audiology in Elkins Park, PA. A practice manager for over 35 years, Dr. Traynor has lectured on most aspects of the field of Audiology in over 40 countries including the United States.

Jack M. Stern - Attorney
Jack has experience working on the Board of Directors of other 501(c)(3) organizations.  He has held a title of Vice President of Investments and then in 1982 started his own law practice where he was Administrator of a large trust fund.  He was responsible for all legal, accounting, financial and investment matters.  He is very experienced in financial management, budgeting and accounting.

Steven P. Cass, MD
Dr. Cass is a cochlear implant surgeon with over 22 years of experience with hearing loss and medical management. He has been an Associate Professor with the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center since 1999.

Cheryl DeConde Johnson
Cheryl DeConde Johnson, Ed.D., is a former consultant with the Colorado Department of Education where she was responsible for deaf education and audiology services from 1998-2006. Prior to that time she was an educational audiologist and program coordinator for the public school deaf and hard of hearing program in Greeley , Colorado . She is currently a lecturer in several AuD programs including the University of Colorado , Boulder , University of Northern Colorado , and Central Michigan University . She is active as a consultant, program evaluator, writer, as well as a trainer for the National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE). Cheryl has a grown daughter who is deaf.

Dr. Marion Downs
Marion P. Downs is a Distinguished Professor Emerita at the University of Colorado School of Medicine where she spent more than 35 years providing clinical services to benefit patients with hearing impairments. She devoted her professional life to the promotion of early identification of hearing loss in newborns, infants and young children and helping those handicapped by hearing impairment to lead fulfilling lives. During her outstanding career at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Marion Downs initiated, developed and evaluated techniques for testing hearing in children and fitting them, some as young as a few weeks of age, with hearing aids. She was among the first to recognize the need for placing hearing aids as early as possible to help handicapped infants to hear speech and language and learn communication skills during their critical development years.

Christine Arbogast
Christine has a long history (over 25 years) in government relations where she concentrates on advocating for water rights and natural resources.  She is very experienced in strategic planning, communication, public and media relations, writing, and special events.

Director of Niche Publications and Audience Development, Ventura, California.

Richard "Dick" Gray, Sr., D.Sc.
Richard was the Founder and Chairman of the Zero-Max industries. Chief Executive Officer of IDS Mutual Fund, and founder of the Freshwater Society. He founded the Minnesota Weatherguide Environment Calendars which are throughout the country.

Blain D. Myhre - Attorney
Mr. Blaine Myhre works in the field of appellate law, civil litigation, dispute resolution, and public law and policy for Isaacson Rosenbaum, PC, in downtown Denver. He currently serves on the City of Centennial Board of Adjustments and the Colorado Lawyers Board of Directors.

Jerry Northern PhD
Jerry is a Professor Emeritus from the University of Colorado School of Medicine where he spent 26 years as a clinical audiologist and Head of the Audiology Department. Dr. Northern holds degrees from Colorado College (B.A.), Gallaudet University (M.S.), the University of Denver (M.A.) and earned his Ph.D. at the University of Colorado. He is a native of Denver, CO where he was raised by his deaf grandparents and grew up using American Sign Language as a second language. He is a Founder and past-president of the American Academy of Audiology and served as editor of “Audiology Today” magazine for more than 15 years. He is the author or editor of 12 textbooks dealing with various aspects of hearing and hearing disorders and management of patients with hearing losses.

Terry L. Scholes, M.A.
Terry offers extensive experience in the field of financial services, having been the President of Terry Scholes Insurance, Inc., and is recognized statewide as a top planning advisor for investment strategies. He has been Chairman of the Board at Denver Health and Colorado Prevention Center.

Rick Steighner
Rick was Vice President of Phonic Ear, General Manage of Micromed, President and Owner of Medical Device Consulting Company, and Owner of The Hearing Center in South Carolina. He earned a Masters Degree in Audiology and Business Administration.

Liesel Thomas, B.S.
Liesel is a mother of three daughters including a 7-year old and a 9-month old who are profoundly deaf.  Liesel has a B.S. in Communications, has been a paralegal, and has done marketing strategies for a variety of organizations. 

Gary Voelker
Gary is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and has a veterinary practice in Englewood, Colorado. Along with his many veterinarian associations, Gary is an active member of the Center for Hearing, Speech & Language, Rocky Mountain Inner Ear Dizziness, Balance Disorders and Meniere's Support Group. He is also a member of the Sertoma International and has been a member of Optimist International.
